The Hibernian Foundation

Supporting our global community!

On June 4, 2004 AOH Division 7 brother Frank Carvill was killed in action near Sadr City, Iraq while serving with the 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery New Jersey National Guard. This tragic event was the inspiration for the formation of the AOH Charitable Gift Corp. to further the charitable endeavors of Tomas Cardinal O’Fiaich AOH Division 7-New York County.

On April 7, 2008 we changed our name to the Hibernian Foundation to better reflect our overall mission and goals. We continue to be support by the membership of AOH Division 7 as well as our many friends in the greater Hibernian community. Our charitable focus has always been on helping children in need, be it either our support of the Frank T. Carvill Memorial Scholarship Fund, our support of the Fighting 69th Children’s Trusts or our long standing relationship with Project Children (www.projectchildren.org). For over 15 years Division 7 has been the proud sponsor of the annual Kruise for Kids to benefit Project Children. Since 1992 we have raised more than $1,000,000.00 for Project Children.

Our 2008 Frank T. Carvill Hibernian of the Year Dinner Dance will be held on  Friday November 14, 2008 aboard the luxurious Spirit of New York. We will be sailing from Pier 62, Chelsea Piers (23rd Street @ 12th Avenue) at 7:00 PM. We are proud to honor Tom Slattery as our Hibernian of the Year!

Our annual AOH Division 7 Christmas Party will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Pig & Whistle on W. 47th Street.

Please join us on Wednesday June 10th for the 18th annual Kruise for Kids to benefit Project Children aboard the Spirit of New York.
